Too Dry If you allow your weed to remain unprotected for long (exposed to air, heat, and light), it will become dry and brittle. When dry, your bud will burn too fast and the hits will be harsh. To keep your weed in prime condition, place your “stash” (supply of marijuana) in an airtight container or a plastic bag. However, even when you’re careful, your buds can loose a little moisture. So, if you notice your weed is getting too dry, add a sliver of orange or lemon peel to your bag, and seal it up tight for a few hours. The weed will sap the water from the rind and become re-hydrated. (Be careful not to leave the peel in for too long, as it could mold and ruin your weed.) Too Wet A less common, but more troublesome problem is wet weed. If you try to smoke weed that is too wet, the bud will burn slowly and won’t stay lit. (This kind of saturated condition usually occurs when you don’t give your homegrown enough time to dry.) Here are a few options to help you adjust the moisture: 1) Leave the container open. postheadericon Hydroponic Starter Kits Allow You To Grow Plants From Home

Hydroponic starter kits are wonderful assortments of all the equipment you need to start successfully growing your own plants from home. Hydroponic, or water based, growing systems make the most of sometimes limited space within your own home to develop healthy, vibrant plants from nutrient enriched water instead of soil. The advantages of a hydroponic system include decreased mess, compact growing areas, and easily measurable and adjustable growing medium composition.

Hydroponic starter kits are excellent for curious would-be gardeners looking to start their first project who are nonetheless wary of a large undertaking. The kits come with everything needed to get up and running fast and to discover your own green thumb! More than just a fun and enjoyable introduction to growing, hydroponic setups are increasingly more important as we face an eco-crisis that sees people struggling to find new and inventive ways to live more sustainably.

Having a hydroponic arrangement on your kitchen windowsill can provide you with an interesting hobby that simultaneously produces usable goods such as vegetables, herbs and medicines. Excellent reading material exists to help you determine the exact mixture and ideal conditions that your particular plants will require to do their best. Local florists and garden shops often have some of these on hand, as well as one or two helpful folks who know firsthand the benefits of growing via hydroponics.

The problem with constantly using traditional soil based growing methods is that repeated planting season after season taxes and depletes the tired earth, until all usable and necessary nutrients are exhausted. Crop bulk and health eventually suffer and, the more planting that is done without giving the soil enough seasons of rest,  the less able the earth becomes to support any planting whatsoever. Hydroponic systems overcome these difficulties all together due to their unique design. Water mediums enriched with carefully calibrated mixtures of nutrients and minerals are used in conjunction with plastic or eco-conscious materials to physically support seedlings and eventually mature plants as they draw their food and water from the bottom of the hydroponic basin.

Hydroponic starter kits not only serve to establish excellent relaxing and de-stressing hobbies, they also make terrific gifts! Giving one to a close friend or relative lets them know you are interested not only in their well being and the health of their soil, but also the health of their wallets! Once hydroponic systems are correctly set up, they can steadily produce crops at an absolute fraction of the cost of the same species of store-bought fruits and veggies. Hydroponic systems also make for fantastic family activities as they can be assembled through team effort and, afterward, each member can be assigned a specific duty toward the maintenance and upkeep of the crops.

So why shell out extra money just to buy flavourless, sickly and generally underwhelming supermarket produce that is often treated with harmful pesticides and other chemicals? Why not take pride in your own crops and reap the direct benefit of your own windowsill hydroponic garden?

If you are looking to develop an understanding and interest in Hydroponics, hydroponic starter kits are ideal for you. To view the many options of starter kits available to you visit Hydroponic Growth today at http://www.hydroponicgrowth.co.uk.

In a strange twist, police say that evidence taken from a B.C. marijuana grow-op famous for its tame bears was stolen from an RCMP detachment and later discovered at a home filled with weapons and explosives.

Kootenays RCMP Staff Sgt. Dan Seibel told ctvbc.ca that marijuana and other evidence was placed in a storage container in Grand Forks after it was seized from a suspected grow operation guarded by 14 tame black bears last month.

postheadericon (2009, October 2nd) CKNW – Christy Clark Interviews Marc Emery from Jail [1 of 2]

Note: I have no association with Marc Emery or Jodie Emery besides the fact that I wish I had their courage. I was quite offended myself by Christy Clark’s behaviour and comments. I can only imagine how the folks in Vansterdam felt. She came off as having an overly enlarged ego. Is she always like that? She did get me thinking, could she be possibly correct with her insinuation that Marc Emery cannot be kept in the same category as MLK, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela or even Jesus? I bet you she was oblivious to the fact that Jesus can be placed in the same category. He also practiced non-violent resistance and civil disobedience to help achieve his political goals. She was very uneducated on the reasons why these great humans were compelled to do what they did. Do you know who my heroes are? My heroes are those who feel compelled to stop injustice by taking on the burden of the injustice themselves, highlight it for others to see and compel them to help make the necessary changes to stop it. THOSE are my heroes. Marc Emery, MLK, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Jesus and David Malmo-Levine are ALL among my heroes. Christy Clark should think twice about voicing opinions on subjects she doesn’t know very much about for fear of looking like a bigoted jack-ass.

The law is the law. If we unquestioningly accepted that maxim, imagine where we would be today. Jim Crow would be alive and well, rivers and skies would be polluted, and women wouldn’t be allowed to vote.
