Dennis and Jack are the only ones that seem to make any sense in this movement these days and our beloved Jack has passed away. Lets take back the power and overgrow our government . Do feel taxing our income is right? I don’t. They don’t tax medicine and so therefore by taxing it they are admitting that it is not medicine…I for one can assure its medicinal

Amazingly put out. I always felt Richard Lee’s attempts were from a fellow patient trying to help out, but I agree 100% I knew the arrest would be more, and it would make it more difficult for me to be able to get my medication because l’m a under 21 mmj patient and to add on it will also make it more difficult my to smoke…
Thanks so much Mr. Pardon l hope one day to be able to assist my fellow community as much as you have.

We tried to get Mr Lee to change the obnoxious parts of his Initiative but he didn’t allow any critical input.
We will spend years parsing out the problems caused by this inept attempt at legislation if it passes and it probably will.
Cowards should stay out of marijuana repeal.

vote yes! if this act does not pass the prohibitionists will use it against us and say “look, even California doesn’t want to legalize it!” and it will set the entire movement back ten years.

Americans are not mature enough to take giant leaps to make positive changes. Americans have been pummeled into fear and speculative fear by political propaganda for far too many years.
We need to find a middle ground and take a small step because we are too afraid of the boogieman lurking in the shadows. The current bill is one of those little steps. To try to get cannabis completely legal is a leap that too many “fearful” Americans (Californians) may not be willing to take.
Vote Yes…

@dazeofmylife I agree. I’m sitting here listening to this man complain about taxing cannabis… the whole time I am thinking why complain after all of this progress. Amend any technicalities that create unnecessary prosecution. In the mean time suck it up & follow the laws that are in place. At least people can posses cannabis without fear. I am not willing to flush a legalization initiative down the toilet just because it is poorly written. Cannabis has been in a social stigma for far to long.

Peron, you are as full of shit as the person who was using the microwave oven while you were talking. A Bill can always be Amended in the future. The people should vote for any measure that opens the door a little wider for the adult use of Cannabis…period.

No disrespect, but it is unrealistic, to put it mildly, to think you can launch out of the gate with a measure that’s lighter on marijuana than the laws that govern alcohol. You will never get the legalization ball rolling with a platform that makes a point of supporting growing next to schools and selling to 18 year old kids so they can smoke it in the park. That’s crazy. The only realistic chance is to propose something that’s on par with the laws governing alcohol.

this one seems good all the other bills and initiantive seem to give more control to the government and don’t seem to have the patients interests in mind …who cares about recreational users if we are not going to completely legalize it then we should only be concerned with patient rights and protecting prop 215…Tax and regulate is a huge mistake mark my words

The Regulate, Control and Tax cannabis Act of 2010 is misguided because if the public is ready there is no need for a law that adds new felonies for marijuana.
Lee’s insipid initiative will probably pass because the public is ready for legalization.
After we see the results of Mr Lee’s law, we’ll raise $5-10 million to get a new initiative started that really sets cannabis free.
Remember this, under Mr Lee’s law everyone going to prison for a “marijuana crime” will still go to prison.

If every famous pot loving celeb spoke up for the cause, gave some money, and demanded change the results would be amazing. They make stoner comedies, profiting off of the marijuana culture, but not many speak against prohibition. Stand up for the people that made your careers. With power comes responsibility.
