Plant Paradise – Rothbury Michigan (Medical Marijuana Grow Shop)

ROTHBURY, Mich. (WZZM) – There is now a store in Rothbury where customers can buy products and get information to help them grow medical marijuana. It’s called Plant Paradise. “I take my time, give them an assessment and help them install an indoor growing facility,” says store manager Swan Swanson. You can’t buy marijuana or even seeds at the store, but it supplies soil, fertilizer, containers and lights– everything the staff says customers will need and instructions on how to do it. Retired registered nurse Jean Phillips is one of the investors behind the store. “I’m an eight year cancer survivor and I used marijuana during chemo,” says Phillips. “Now that the new medical marijuana law was passed the market is here. It’s time to do it and help people if we can.” Unlike some communities, the village of Rothbury didn’t do anything to oppose Plant Paradise. “They came for zoning permits and they meet all of the zoning requirements in the village of Rothbury,” says village president Robert Walker. “I do not have a problem with it. They are not manufacturing or distributing marijuana.” Everything you need to grow marijuana will cost you about $900 at Plant Paradise, and that’s not counting the seeds. The store doesn’t sell seeds.
