The Homegrown Hydroponics Mini Fridge Grow Box

I have been looking to start my own hydroponics garden for some time. However because I live with both my parents and my girlfriend I don’t really have the luxury to grow as I would if I was living on my own. So I have been hunting around on the Internet for the last several weeks looking for the best stealth grow box I could find that would allow me to grow several plants without anybody taking too much notice. I had heard there were grow boxes available on the market that allowed you to grow inside of a PC tower case for instance. However growing inside of a computer tower would not be adequate for the types of plants that I would be growing. I was looking for really a much larger system were my plants could grow much taller than the limited space of the computer tower grow box, but still contain a good amount of stealth and look like an everyday appliance. Meaning I was looking for a grow box that didn’t look like a grow box. I was looking for something similar to a PC grow box except bigger; a lot bigger.

After a few weeks of research I found a company called Homegrown Hydroponics. Homegrown Hydroponics manufacturers something that they call a Mini-fridge Grow Box. The Mini fridge is essentially a grow box that contains everything you need to grow plants inside of what looks like a refrigerator, that you might find in somebody’s house, only a miniature version. Pretty much looked exactly like something that you would store cold sodas or cold beers in your dorm room. The Homegrown Hydroponics Mini Fridge grow box that I purchased came with everything I needed to grow plants and was quite impressive when it arrived.

It came with a powerful compact fluorescent lighting system which was more than sufficient to vegetative and also flower my plants. Also included with the Homewood Hydroponics Minifridge grow box was also the hydroponic system which would grow the plants as well as the pumps for the hydroponics system which were required to keep it running. The Mini Fridge grow box also came with the appropriate nutrients and all the grow medium that I would need to grow my plants. Also the unit that I purchased has a fantastic ventilation system to keep it breathing and running at great temperatures all the time. The Homegrown Hydroponics Minifridge uses very powerful but quiet whisper fans. Basically it uses one fan to bring fresh air and from the room while the unit is running, as well as another fan for venting out used air. The Mini Fridge also came with an activated carbon filter to get rid of any grow odors, so it does run relatively odor free to maintain its stealth like appearance.

The fantastic thing about the Homewood Hydroponics Mini Fridge grow box is that it was shipped to me completely assembled and ready to go the day that I got it. However to take a step back before I ordered it, I called in to Homegrown Hydroponics and spoke to Howard several times on the phone and he was very useful in pointing me towards a grow box that was right for my needs and in my price range. The Mini Fridge was truly a fantastic choice, and once I decided to order it we came up with the total on the phone after I gave him my shipping information. He then assigned me my order number and gave me the total including shipping and crating. I quickly sent out a cashier’s check via overnight mail which I confirmed was received early the next day. Once Homegrown Hydroponics confirmed they received my payment it took them about three weeks to custom build my Mini Fridge grow box. I knew it the unit has to be custom built for me so I was not expecting it overnight. It was difficult to wait but I knew they were doing a good job building it and I patiently wait while they worked on my unit.

When I received a Mini fridge grow box it was actually shipped on a large wooden crate and looked like I was getting some sort of appliance delivered. Of course I was getting a refrigerator delivered and that’s exactly what It looked like my neighbors and parents. I was very happy with the quality of the shipping from Homegrown Hydroponics and the quality of the final product they delivered to my door as promised in a few weeks after ordering it.

After I cleaned the unit and plugged it in it took me less than 15 minutes to setup all the timers as well as the hydroponic system for use. For the most part everything on the Homegrown Hydroponics Mini Fridge is self-explanatory, but it also comes with a detailed instruction manual to help new users get started. I also found some fantastic videos on the Homegrown Hydroponics website that will walk you through setting up this unit as well as specifics about hydroponics in general. I found Homegrown Hydroponics tech support to be very useful and very knowledgeable, as well as the videos on the website really made it easy for a beginner like myself to enjoy the world of hydroponics.

I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Homewood Hydroponics Mini Fridge and I think it’s that well-built, and well-thought-out product that will work well for anybody looking to grow your own hydroponic garden without attracting too much attention to the garden itself. The Minifridge was a good choice for me and I thought that I would share this information with the world of urban hydroponics growers hoping that it can help out some other people like myself, who would like to grow but also enjoy their privacy and don’t want to spend all their free time maintaining their garden.
